U.S. shrimp imports continue to rebound

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the United States imported 70,835 tons of shrimp products in November 2023, and increase of 11% over the previous year, and achieved a rebound in imports for five consecutive months.

However, the unit price of imports in November was $8.00/kg, down 12% year-on-year and slightly up $0.02/kg month-on-month. Imports amounted to US $567 million, down 2% year on year. In the first 11 months, the United States imported 722,743 tons of shrimp, down 7% from the same period last year, and imported about $5.9 billion, down 19% from the same period last year.
