The United States imported 785,800 tons of shrimp in 2023, a decrease of nearly 52,000 tons, or 6.6%, from imports in 2022.
India remained its largest supplier during the period, exporting 296,100 tons of shrimp to the US market for the full year. In second and third place were Ecuador and Indonesia, which exported 205,500 tons and 146,300 tons, respectively.
Vietnam (60,500 tons), Thailand (27,900 tons), Mexico (15,600 tons), Argentina (14,300 tons), China (3,600 tons), Peru (2,200 tons) and Saudi Arabia (1,600 tons) also contributed their share.
