Tilapia prices in southern China have continued to soar during the month of October, remaining comfortably at heights not seen since 2018.
The supply of Tilapia raw materials are short this year, especially for small size recently.
And most factories are fully booked already before the Chinese New Year.
The Chinese New Year come early this year, Feb. 1st is the Spring Festival. So the CNY holidays may start around Jan. 22 to Feb. 15.
Because of the electric power limitation, many factories' production capacity are much less than before, that's why it takes longer time to finish the orders and have no space to take more orders now.
The supply of raw materials are usually very few after the Chinese New Year holidays, so it is hard to ship any containers in Feb.
The freight rate still remains at a very high level. But it is stable at a high level recently.
